Product Description

The NI cRIO ECAT S is an EtherCAT Interface Module, engineered collaboratively by National Instruments (NI) and KUNBUS. Identified by the NI part number 784041-01, this module is designed to be compatible with CompactRIO systems and is programmable via LabVIEW FPGA. Its primary function is to transform CompactRIO systems into compliant slave modules that can integrate seamlessly with EtherCAT networks. The NI cRIO ECAT S EtherCAT Interface Module is equipped with two Ethernet ports, allowing for effective daisy chaining of various EtherCAT slave devices. This increases the total number of channels and makes this module suitable for applications that demand high-speed operations with a compact processor. The cRIO ECAT S module can accommodate up to 1024 Bytes of input data and can transmit the same amount of output data through its Ethernet ports. This module operates at a cycle time of 100 µS and supports the EtherCAT SYNC0 synchronization mode. Moreover, the cRIO ECAT S EtherCAT Interface Module needs to be powered by an external 24 V supply. Accepting an input voltage between 18 – 30 V, this module can endure an overvoltage up to 60 V at the input port. When active, the cRIO ECAT S module has a power consumption of a mere 31 mW.
