Product Description
The National Instruments NI VXIpc-486 Model 599 is an exceptional Embedded Computer from the renowned VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series. Possessing a 100 MHz microprocessor, inbuilt storage, and RAM, it stands as a robust standalone unit. Its dedicated system memory facilitates its use in diverse monitoring, control, and testing applications. The NI VXIpc-486 Model 599 is compatible with multiple communication protocols and comes equipped with a host of interface connectors. It can operate on different types of operating systems and be managed through various applications. National Instruments provides a host of specifically designed software packages for use with its Model 500 Series VXI Controllers. Devices from the Model 500 Series VXI Controllers come with the Quadtel AT Compatible BIOS (basic input/output system). The devices are delivered with a fully set up BIOS, with the added benefit of user access for necessary modifications. In its default setting, the NI VXIpc-486 Model 599 functions as a system controller. When operating in this capacity, it must be positioned in Slot 0 of the VXI chassis. Nevertheless, it's possible to reconfigure the controller for different roles. An External CLK10 connector is present, enabling the device to transmit or accept TTL-level signals based on the chosen configuration. By default, the External CLK 10 feature is deactivated. National Instruments has declared the VXIpc-486 Model 599 to be Obsolete Status, but the embedded computer remains available for purchase and repairs.
