The NI PXI-8820 RT is an Embedded PXI Controller that allows users to execute in-ROM diagnostics for the memory and hard drive swiftly, circumventing the need for external tools. The analysis result can indicate if there is a necessity to replace these components. Its architecture facilitates swift on-field replacements of crucial components like memory and hard drive. Users may choose to purchase memory and hard drive upgrades with the PXI-8820 RT. The combination of these upgrades with in-ROM diagnostics significantly boosts the serviceability of the PXI-8820 RT. This model is available in two part numbers: 782920-04 (132 MB/s) and 782920-33 (132 MB/s). To ensure steady operations, embedded LabVIEW Real-Time applications continue functioning even in situations where the host PC is rebooted or disrupted. Given the PXI-8820 RT Embedded Controller operates in a separate chassis with a dedicated power supply, it allows the user to switch off the host PC without affecting the ongoing system. Users can employ the LabVIEW Professional Development System and LabVIEW Real-Time Module to integrate their LabVIEW application into an executable and download it to their PXI-8820 RT Controller. Moreover, users can choose from several hard drive options to cater to different environmental and usage conditions. For enhanced temperature range and continuous operation, a solid-state drive (SSD) is recommended. It's designed for reliability in both high and low-temperature conditions and for round-the-clock operations. Rotating disk drives offer the controller an operational temperature range of 5 °C to 50 °C and a storage temperature range of - 40 °C to 65 °C.
