The PXI Slot Cover (Product Code: 199198-01, includes five slot covers and five filler panels) is expertly crafted to fill and shield empty slots in controllers and chassis, ensuring system health and performance. It is fully compatible with PXI, CompactRIO, and CompactDAQ chassis and control elements. The pack includes slot covers, blank models, and filler panels to fill in spaces. The PXI Slot Cover plays a crucial role in enhancing whole system cooling and thereby, performance. It redirects the airflow within the PXI chassis away from the empty slots and towards the PXI module-filled slots. The PXI Slot Cover is designed for use with the following PXI chassis options: NI PXI-104x Series, NI PXI-1050, NI PXI-1052, NI PXIe-106x Series, and NI PXI-103x Series. It is most suited to chassis with rear-located fans or fans situated under the card cage and is not recommended for dual-stacked configuration. To install the PXI Slot Cover, one needs to assemble the following components: a compatible PXI or PXI express chassis, a system controller corresponding to the PXI and PXI express chassis, peripheral modules for the PXI or PXI express, the PXI Slot Cover, and PXI filler panels. After inserting the Slot Cover into all empty slots of the PXI chassis, place a filler panel over all slots occupied by the Slot Cover. The PXI Slot Cover, with its dedicated compatibility with PXI and PXI express configurations, enhances the reliability and lifespan of the system by improving its cooling abilities. It directs air away from open slots towards occupied ones, making it useful in applications where improved cooling is necessary.
