Product Description
The National Instruments PCMCIA-GPIB+ serves as both a GPIB Interface and Analyzer. Tailored for the PCMCIA slots commonly found in laptops, this device allows for the integration of any GPIB compatible device into your existing system. The package includes a special cable that facilitates connectivity between the PCMCIA-GPIB+ and the device's GPIB port. In terms of compatibility, this Interface and Analyzer adheres to the IEEE 488.2 and HS488 standards. It's constructed as a Type II card and fully complies with the specifications outlined by the PCMCIA PC card standard's 2.1 version. The device is further enhanced with a National Instruments TNT family ASIC, fortifying its GPIB interfacing capabilities. Designed with portability and low power consumption in mind, it's an ideal choice for numerous battery-operated applications. Furthermore, the PCMCIA-GPIB+ boasts a broad range of analyzer capabilities, enabling you to capture and monitor GPIB bus activity at high speeds. The device also features a 32-byte FIFO that buffers data being received or transmitted via the GPIB, thereby positively influencing the data transfer rate. The in-built analyzer can sample at rates as high as 20 MHz while maintaining a 5 ns timestamp resolution. Fully compatible with the Plug & Play standard, the Interface and Analyzer can be easily added or removed without necessitating a system restart. To ensure a secure mechanical setup, the PCMCIA-GPIB+ comes equipped with latching connectors. Though National Instruments has announced the obsolescence of the PCMCIA-GPIB+, the product will still be available for purchase and repair.
